How is the compensation determined when purchasing computers?

When purchasing computers, determining the compensation depends on a number of factors, such as:

  • Age: Computers less than five years old retain a higher residual value. Older systems can still be traded in, but generally yield less.
  • Specifications and condition: PCs in good technical and cosmetic condition and complete with accessories such as cords and adapters have a higher value.
  • Quantity: Larger lots of the same type are generally more attractively priced.
  • Market demand: The residual value is influenced by market movements (supply and demand) of used desktops, PCs, computers and peripherals.
  • Additional services: Data destruction, transportation and packaging may incur additional costs.
